Government to cover life time medical expense for children injured by swine flu permanently

Recently in September officials in Finland from national narcolepsy task force determined that swine flu or H1N1 vaccine is to blame for causing narcolepsy among children. The swine flu vaccine was developed by giant drug specialist GlaxoSmithKline. The Finnish government in response to the disease has taken the responsibility to treat the affected children.

The government has agreed to pay the entire amount that goes beyond the limits of insurance companies. The reports determined that those children who were given Pandemrix vaccine were more likely to develop narcolepsy than those who were not given. It was administered that the children who were given vaccine had 13 times more risk of developing the infection than others.

A research found that there was a connection between cataplexy, a form of sleeping disorder, as well as hallucination and Pandemrix. Cataplexy is also known for paralyzing physical collapses. The minister of social services in Finland said that the compensation provided by the government will give relief to the family members of the affected children. Though the emotional distress caused to the families cannot be relieved, but it will be beneficial to some extent.

Many insurance giants in Finland have agreed to shell out the treatment cost till life time. The Finland government still has reassured the public by providing compensation to offer them relaxation. The government has reassured the public that ever if the medical cost rises beyond the insurance limits they will be compensated. If the insurance companies, fail to pay the amount required for treatment the government will reimburse the affected.

The FPIP (Finnish pharmaceutical insurance pool), a cooperative insurance giant, have agreed to pay the cost that will be required to treat narcolepsy in swine flu influenced children. The FPIP covers all damages and loses occurred due to failure of pharmaceutical drugs. In early 2009-2010, approximately 12 countries of the world reported world health organization (WHO) with health information. The countries reported that the swine flu vaccinations were the basic responsible factor for developing narcolepsy.

The Finland research teams later determined that swine flu vaccines were the chief responsible factors for causing narcolepsy among children and individuals. The loses or damages caused by the swine flu vaccination is the sole responsibility of GSK the developer of vaccine. The entire compensation to the affected children should be provided only by the GSK.

Government of Finland or the insurance companies is not at all responsible towards the children developing narcolepsy. The Finnish government has still taken steps to compensate the families of swine flu affected children.
